Beschreibung

***English below***

Political epistemology examines the epistemic conditions of democratic politics. Political phenomenology, by contrast, focuses on the experiential dimension of the political. The goal of the workshop is to facilitate a structured exchange between the two approaches, bringing together epistemological and phenomenological perspectives on democratic institutions and processes. The focus is particularly on institutional processes in democratic societies, as well as on the question of how communities and their members navigate these processes and identify opportunities for action.

The speakers are: Thomas Bedorf, Gerhard Thonhauser, Gabriel Mehmel, Ezgi Sertler, Sonja Riegler, and Nikita Dhawan. Talks and discussion will be in English.

The workshop will take place on Monday, November 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at TU Dresden. The event is financially supported by GAP and the Chair of Practical Philosophy at TU Dresden, Prof. Tamara Jugov.
