• Science, Values, and Institutions

As there are an increasing number of approaches in socially engaged philosophy of science that use the concept of institutions, the workshop aims to analyze the concept of institutions and to explore which types of institutions are particularly relevant to the problems we currently face related to science and democracy. The workshop thus contributes to a more precise understanding of how institutions (should) shape the relation between science and society and the management of values in scientific practice.

Speakers: Hanne Andersen, Gabriele Badano, T.Y. Branch, Kevin Elliott, Juliana Gutierrez Valderrama, Julie Jebeile, Stephen John, Anna Leuschner, Chrysostomos Mantzavinos, Boaz Miller, Kärin Nickelsen, Tanja Rechnitzer, Stéphanie Ruphy, Ezgi Sertler
