The successful candidate will be working in the German team of the Agence Nationale de la Recherche- (ANR) and DFG-funded project “SEER: THE SEMANTICS OF EPISODIC REPRESENTATIONS” (German PI: Kristina Liefke, French PI: Kourken Michaelian). They will conduct collaborative research, publish papers, and co-organize workshops with the other SEER team members. https://www.pe.rub.de/philosophie/ii/phil-inf/seer/
SEER is an interdisciplinary project that brings together ideas from semantics and the philosophy of memory. It aims to develop a novel framework for thinking about episodic memory representations that analyzes these representations through the same (semantic) tools as linguistic and iconic ‘meanings’. SEER seeks to show how this framework helps answer various current issues in philosophy of memory and, inversely, advances ongoing research in attitude semantics and the philosophy of language.
The Bochum-based postdoc will be expected to have expertise in intensional semantics / philosophy of language and a background (or at least strong interest) in philosophy of mind. Recruitment criteria include a PhD in philosophy (or a related discipline, like linguistics or cognitive science), a willingness to dive into new research topics, and an interest in engaging with work in other disciplines.
The Grenoble-based postdoc (call forthcoming) will be expected to have expertise in philosophy of memory and a background (or at least strong interest) in philosophy of language.
